What is the turnaround time to produce a custom- made portfolio or case? How can I check on the status of my order?
Turnaround time is scheduled within (three) 3 weeks from date of confirmation, subject to size, design and material availability.

Do you offer stock portfolios? What are the available dimensions? Delivery?
Yes. Size ranges are 7 x 5 to 14 x 11 in mostly Black waxskin.(20-40 page capacity) These are available for quick delivery if no stamping is required -

Will I be notified in advance of delivery?
All international orders are dispatched upon completion. Domestic orders will be notified in advance of delivery to confirm mode of shipping.


How are freight charges determined?
Weight and destination dictate freight costs and are determined at the time your order is completed.

What is waxskin material? How does it compare to fabric- cloth materials and leather?
Waxskin is an industry standard matte finish vinyl-based material, which simulates a leather look and touch. It is very durable, easy to maintain, and frequently used as a cost alternative to leather.


Do you provide samples of materials? Swatches? Color charts?
while we do not have a "Formal" swatch book. We can usually provide samples of waxskin/fabric material. Swatches of leather/suede are not always available


Can I supply my own material?
Yes. In most cases a test sample is sent in advance.

While we always strive to do our best to not have any damage come to your supplied items.. Please note that we are not responsible for any materials given to us for the purposes of hinging, punching, trimming or any cover materials, all materials shall be submitted at the owners risk. The House of Portfolios assumes no financial or other responsibility for said materials.

Can I remove the pages?
we use a screw post system - pages are easily removed.


What is the difference between acetate and polyester pages?
both pages open on the top and bottom. The pages are very clear and will not have an acid reaction with your images that vinyl potentially could. Acetate pages are appropriate for color images and computer prints. They are also suitable for glossy prints or laser copies. Polyester pages are clear, acid free and museum archival quality.They are also glossier and more reflective than acetate.

Can I purchase acetate pages individually? Is there a minimum quantity?
Acetate pages are available in individual sheets and may be purchased in any quantity.


How do you correctly measure dimensions for a portfolio book or case?
To obtain the correct dimensions of a portfolio book or case, determine the size of the image or visual area you require. The exterior dimensions will be slightly larger.


Can I put larger screws in the book for it to hold more pages?
this is absolutely NOT recommended as the spine and binding were originally made to hold a specific amount of pages. putting in larger screws will certainly damage the book. (nor will it close properly)

What is the maximum page capacity in a standard size portfolio?
Generally 20 pages/40 images to 30 pages/60 images are used in a standard size portfolio. These can be configured to your requirements.

What is hot stamping? Blind stamping?
Hot stamping is a process by which the image is depressed into the portfolio book with color. We utilize a de-bossing technology. The name can be placed anywhere. Standard position is optical center- 1 inch above center. Generally administered on waxskin and some leather materials.

Blind stamping employs the same procedure as hot stamping, except the image has no color. Frequently applied on a natural leather finish to create a branding effect.


Do you accept digital files for custom logos? Is there a particular format?
Note that these are usually considered CUSTOM LOGO's and are 75.00 and up + 30.00 stamping charge. Ideally, A Hi-Resolution, B/W only, exact size printout sent by express mail is the best way to submit a logo.

However,in most cases, we can work with a digital file.

All files should be sent in Adobe .PDF format.
and must be Black & White, exact size only. and done at as high a resolution as possible to avoid jagged edges.
In the body of your email, please indicate the EXACT size the logo should be when printed out. also, please note that we have no way to mainpulate or re-size files.
Also note that we can only print out on 11 x 8.5 paper (vertical or horizontal) Please limit your image sizes to that size format

What styles of typefaces are available? Are there any additional charges?
Please refer to the following type style link for font availability.
Maximum size is 7 inches. Cost is $50.00 for one line for 1 book - $10.00 per each additional line. Stamping for additonal books is 10.00 each. Any other types used, besides the ones on our page may be regarded as a Custom Logo - Special pricing can be involved


Do you offer discounts on multiple items?
Yes. Please contact us at info@houseofportfolios.com for additional information. (Discounts are usually available for 10+ of the same item i.e.10 books or 10 bags)


Is The House of Portfolios website secure?

What can I do to protect my portfolio from damage?
Our carrying cases provide an excellent protective shell, are water-repellent and recommended for all our products.


Where can I get additional information? Do you provide catalogs? How can I contact an international office?
We provide catalogs upon request. See our "contacts" page for the email addresses/contact info of our other offices The best source for comprehensive information on our products and services is our website.


How are online orders confirmed? Can I speak to a sales or customer service representative?

All online orders are given an initial auto-response reply message shortly after submittal. This indicates that we have received your order. A sales/customer service representative will contact you within a few days to confirm all information contained therein, either by phone or email in advance of processing your order.


Can I fax credit card information? Are partial payments permitted? Do you accept checks?

You may fax credit card information @ 212-633-2247 at any time. Partial payments are not authorized. Full payment is required. Checks are accepted. Please note checks must clear prior to processing your order and will affect production time.


What is your return policy?
The House of Portfolios Co. Inc. guarantees all its products against manufacturing defects. Customer satisfaction is our highest priority. Any custom-made manufacturing item defect is returnable pending immediate notification. Credit for non-personalized stock item defects must be returned within five (5) business days upon receipt. All returnable articles must be received in acceptable condition.

Also, please note that we are not responsible for variances in shades/colors of materials
